The Grower Planning Assistant (GPA) is one of the three planning modules that work in concert with the SIM and GIM management modules. GPA first manages the animal placements between the nursery and the finish farms and later manages the final stage of the production process, mainly planning and scheduling the harvest of the groups in production cycle. GPA also works hand-in-hand with the Feed Delivery Scheduling Assistant (FDSA) to ensure the groups are feed according to company and government health processing guidelines.

GPA, like FDSA and SPA, has the ability to forecast both long and short range projections. Along with farm and plant constraints, the system also takes into account logistics, taking into account transportation constraints while optimizing the most profitable processing schedule for each company or business unit. GPA also has the ability to optimize multiple plant scheduling, taking into account multiple weight targets, line speed, large capacity, rest time, and delivery factors, such as distances from farm to plant, truck capacity and driving restrictions.

Performance profiles, which can be displayed in a number of reports, charts, and graphs, are built using weight and lean% to ensure the maximum ROI per carcass. Feed conversion profiles are also by group, considering genetics and seasonal factors.

  • Analyzes plant demand capacities and business directives to determine the optimum processing schedule.
  • Maintains weight gain projections and updates with actual to ensure accurate daily gain.
  • Works with the FDSA module to plan the proper withdrawal for feed scheduling.
  • Projects the optimum placements at the finishing farms to meet long term plant demands.
  • Calculates historic performance profiles by producers and genetics.
