With the Sow Information Manager (SIM), all of the data necessary to measure sow production is readily available, giving a user the ability to analyze performance by sow, producer, region, division, among other criteria. Performance metrics include, but are not limited to accounting statistics, field production performance values, and on-farm statistics. The SIM module is designed to support both commercial and multiplication farms. As such, a single module can support two very different business models.

From the point of Gilt receiving or first insemination, the SIM module starts tracking costs associated with each animal. All costs are tracked by Sow through each phase of the production process. Production costs are accumulated until a user defined capitalization period. At this time, a user can either expenses the cost or allow the cost to carry forward with the weaned piglets to the nursery, or the next phase of the production process. The system then begins the costing process with the post cap data to ensure accurate costing across the business unit is respected. The SIM module allows for viewing the entire herd history from placement to sale/transfer. System granularity allows for data capture and reporting at the farm, group, house, and pen levels.
