The Hatchery Planning Assistant (HPA) is a powerful analytical tool that utilizes data from a variety of sources in the PMTS and provides a complete overview of the business. HPA utilizes the concept of supply and demand to establish a net position for eggs and chicks. Data is sourced from other Production and Planning modules as well as Flock Manager and Facility Manager Modules to provide an overall estimated position. Data sources can be modified to provide 'what if' scenarios to provide alternative production plans.

The process begins with the Broiler Planning Assistant (BRPA) where harvest targets are determined by plant. Based on target weights, placement schedules are derived from growth curves. By determining the number of birds that are required to be placed, the eggs set by hatchery are calculated from estimated hatch percentages. Hatchery capacities, minimum safety stock and projected egg flows are used to evaluate surpluses and shortages. The outcome will recommend egg movements between hatcheries and highlight where additional sales and purchased are required.

  • Analyzes broiler chick demand to determine number of eggs to set
  • Utilizes BPA projected egg availability to plan future set schedule
  • Calculates historical hatchability by breed and grower
  • Examines setter and hatchery performance to suggest optimum machine scheduling
  • Manages chick orders in real-time based on product availability
  • Analyzes chick sales and internal placement targets, as well as production cycles to determine optimum egg-set scheduling. Primary breeder mode allows for order entry and real-time assessment of egg sets
  • Tracks customer preferences for products, sales detail, and generates invoices
