The Broiler Planning Assistant (BRPA) is the second of four Planning and Projection Modules that utilizes the data maintained in the Information Managers. BRPA's main function is to handle the final stage of the poultry production cycle, planning and scheduling the harvest of production flocks. The program determines when to process the flocks and the best sequence for pick up as well as working with the FDSA to ensure the flocks are fed according to company and FDA processing guidelines.
As with FDSA, the BRPA forecasts for both the long range and short range. Logistics are optimized to create the most profitable processing schedule for each company. BRPA also optimizes multi-plant scheduling, while taking into consideration multiple target weights and numerous logistical delivery factors, including trucks with different capacities and mileage restrictions.
Weight performance profiles are built and can be displayed in a variety of reports, charts, and graphs. Feed conversion profiles are built per flock type, with breed and seasonal factors weighed in. Weights are closely monitored and charted, keeping up with gains and losses to maximize bird size for processing. Mortality is projected and actualized for each flock to make for accurate accounting and reporting.
- Analyzes plant live bird demand to determine optimum flock processing schedule based on multiple flock types
- Maintains actual and projected daily weight gain for growing flocks
- Instructs FDSA of proper withdrawal feed scheduling
- Provides live bird demand to HPA for set scheduling
- Projects optimum placement of future broiler flocks to meet long term demand
- Calculates historical performance profiles for specific breeds and growers
