Company History

MTech Systems was founded in 1991 by Mike Walker in Cove, Arkansas as a vehicle for marketing his visionary software solutions designed specifically for the poultry industry. As a virtual one-man company for the better part of a decade, Mike allowed other companies to distribute MTech poultry software under license while he focused on developing the product line that would eventually become the Poultry Management Tool Series. During this time, the company relocated to Longview Texas. In the mid 1990s, Marcel Cohen and Simon Cohen joined Mike as partners in Mtech, opening a second office in Atlanta, Georgia. Through long hours of hard work and endless travel, they expanded the business by constantly improving the PMTS with new modules, improved functionality and by breakout marketing strategies unprecedented for a small company. Their efforts resulted in implementations at industry giants like Tyson, ConAgra, Goldkist, and Perdue. In 2001, the two offices merged and Atlanta became the new corporate headquarters. A period of unprecedented growth soon followed, with MTech expanding exponentially several times as the company truly became a global entity with implementations on all of the habitable continents of the world. During 2007, a partnership with Cargill was established to develop the Swine Management Tool Series, our swine software solution, and at present, MTech is poised for another period of significant growth.
